Despite this, the city has no dedicated women’s shelter home within Gurugram district, forcing survivors to travel to distant facilities. Three in five women alter their route or dress to feel safer daily. Safety is not a privilege; it is a right — and the data show that Gurugram’s planning, policing, and social norms have not kept pace with the city’s rapid growth.

Corporate Gurugram needs verified POSH compliance — not just annual paperwork. City planning must embed gender-sensitive design standards: well-lit footpaths, clear sightlines, and safe last-mile transport from every metro station and bus stop.
